Kissing and having oral sex with partner diagnosed for Herpes

Uncategorized

Question. My partner was diagnosed for Herpes. It’s a type-2 virus. The infection is in her lower back region. Few days ago, we kissed and had oral sex. We took enough precaution to cover the infection with cotton and bandages. She has been regular with her medication. She didn’t remove her clothes during the act. Can the virus be transferred via the saliva? We chose not to have sex despite having condoms. Will it affect our child when my partner conceives? She does not have genital herpes. Please reply.

Answer. You have taken adequate precautions. I suggest you wait till the herpes subsides. There is no reason for genital herpes to occur.
